What Plumbing Problems Are Common in Campbelltown?

Much of the Macarthur region went up more recently than the rest of Sydney. The estates out through Ambarvale, Rosemeadow, Claymore and the Narellan side are newer again. That changes what’s under them.

Where the older suburbs closer to the city run original clay sewer lines, most drainage here is PVC. PVC doesn’t crack and lift at the joints the way old earthenware does. So tree roots are a smaller problem here than they are further east.

They’re not absent, though. The established streets around Campbelltown proper and Leumeah are old enough to see both, and a mature gum over a boundary trap will still find a way in. What we get called to instead is fixtures and hot water.

A newer estate was fitted out all at once, so a whole street reaches the end of a hot water system’s life within a few years of itself. The same goes for mixers, cisterns and flexi hoses.

If your place went up in the same wave as your neighbours’, their failures are a fair guide to yours.

Recent Plumbing Work: A Stormwater Line and Pit in Macquarie Fields

In June we were on site at a house in Macquarie Fields, in the Campbelltown area, putting in a new stormwater line and a drainage pit down the side of the house. It’s a newer brick-and-tile estate home, which is most of what Macarthur is made of, and the new run went in as PVC.

The ground was the awkward part of this one. It stayed very wet the whole time we were there, and wet ground won’t level properly no matter how much you work it. We siliconed the inlet and the outlet of the pit, backfilled the trench, and got it as level as the conditions honestly allowed.

Rather than call that finished, we left it to settle overnight and came back with topsoil to bring the trench back up to grade, because backfill in wet ground always drops. The site was cleaned down, the rubbish taken away and the driveway washed off before we left.

How Fast Can a Plumber Get to You in Campbelltown?

Same day for anything urgent in most cases. You’ll get a realistic window when you call, not a promise we can’t hold. Campbelltown is a longer run for us than St George or the Shire, and we’d rather say so upfront than leave you waiting.

Our vans carry the common taps, valves and fittings, so most of your job finishes on the first visit. If we need a part ordered in, you’ll hear that on the day rather than after.

How Much Does a Plumber Cost in Campbelltown?

The cost depends on what’s wrong, which is why we look before we quote. At All Needs Plumbing you always get an upfront, fixed price approved before we start. There are no surprises on your final bill.

At All Needs Plumbing, we offer $50 off your first service and a 10% seniors’ discount. Plus, we offer free call-outs from 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer same-day service in Campbelltown?

Usually, yes. Call us early and you’ll get an honest answer about what time we can reach you. If your job can safely wait for a booked visit, we’ll say so rather than charge you for urgency you don’t need.

Are your Campbelltown plumbers licensed and insured?

Yes. We’re fully licensed and insured under Licence No. 340574c, and our gas fitters are separately licensed for gas work. You’re entitled to ask any plumber in NSW for their licence number before they start, and you should. Every job we do for you is covered by our Lifetime Labour Warranty.

Do you do backflow prevention testing in Campbelltown?

Yes. Backflow prevention devices need annual testing by a licensed plumber with the right accreditation. The results are lodged with your water authority. It’s a common requirement for commercial premises, and for homes with certain irrigation or fire services. See our backflow prevention and testing page.

Are tree roots a problem in Campbelltown drains?

Less than in the older suburbs closer to the city. Most drainage across the newer Macarthur estates is PVC, which doesn’t lift at the joints the way old earthenware does. The established streets around Campbelltown and Leumeah are old enough to see it.

Where they do, we reline rather than dig.

Do you charge a call-out fee in Campbelltown?

Not during standard business hours. You get a free call-out from 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday, and that’s the same wherever you are in our service area. After-hours call-outs may incur a fee, and we’ll tell you what it is before we come out.

Don't Put Off a Plumbing Problem

When something goes wrong with your plumbing, there’s no time to waste. A slow drain becomes a blockage, and a weeping valve becomes a ceiling repair.

Rely on expert local plumbers to take care of it. Give us a call on 1300 110 230 or book online, and rest easy knowing every job is backed by our Lifetime Labour Warranty.
