What is a Plumbing Emergency?

A plumbing emergency is any problem that risks flooding, gas or sewage leaks, or leaves you with no water. Plumbing emergencies can include burst pipes, gas leaks, a blocked or overflowing sewer, roof leaks, and more.

If you’re experiencing any of these emergencies, call us on 1300 110 230 rather than waiting. We’ll give you guidance over the phone and send out a 24-hour plumber ASAP.

Some things, like slow dropping taps or running toilets, can safely wait until tomorrow morning. If you’re not sure, call us anyway and we’ll help you work out whether it’s urgent.

Emergencies We Fix, Day or Night

Our licensed plumbers are experienced in handling the full range of plumbing and gas emergencies:

  • Burst and leaking pipes: We locate the source fast and stop the leak. Then, we repair or replace the affected pipework to prevent it from happening again.
  • Gas leaks and faults: Gas leaks and faults can be extremely dangerous for you and your family. Our licensed gas fitters repair the fault and make your home safe.
  • Blocked drains and pipe relining: We perform in-depth camera inspections to find and repair blockages and pipe damage.
  • Overflowing or blocked toilets: We avert health risks and get your toilet working again quickly.
  • Roof leak/storm damage: We identify how water’s getting into your home and implement long-lasting solutions.

Rely on us for efficient and trustworthy emergency plumbing. We’re here to help homes, renters, businesses, and strata organisations alike.

How Much Does an Emergency Plumber Cost?

The cost of an emergency plumber in Sydney depends on the time of day, how serious the plumbing issue is, and any parts needed. At All Needs Plumbing you always get an upfront, fixed price approved before we start. There are no surprises on your final bill.

At All Needs Plumbing, we offer $50 off your first service and a 10% seniors’ discount. Plus, we offer free call-outs from 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

What Should I Do in a Plumbing Emergency?

If you think you’re experiencing a plumbing emergency in your home, give us a call on 1300 110 230. In addition to sending a local emergency plumber to visit as quickly as possible, we’ll provide advice to you over the phone.

Depending on your emergency, we may advise you to:

  • Burst or badly leaking pipe: Turn off your water at the mains (usually near the front boundary or water meter) to stop the flooding.
  • Gas leak or gas smell: Don’t turn any switches on or off. Open windows, get everyone outside, and call us from outside. Gas leaks are always an emergency.
  • Overflowing or blocked sewer/toilet: Stop using water or flushing the toilet, and keep the area clear.
  • No water/hot water: Check it’s not an isolated tap or the hot water unit’s switch first.
  • Roof or storm leak: Contain water where you safely can (bucket/towels).

Recent Emergency Work: A Gas Leak in Ramsgate

When a Ramsgate homeowner noticed a gas smell around their kitchen cooktop, they called us straight away. Our licensed gas fitter found the cooktop leaking gas even while it was switched off.

They were able to quickly isolate the gas supply to make the home safe, before removing the faulty cooktop and replacing all the necessary components. Gas leaks are never something to wait on. If you can smell gas, get everyone outside and call us.

Thanks to our fast emergency response, a local homeowner was able to make their home safe for them and their family. Plus, while on-site, we also replaced an ageing, calcified hot water system.

Yes, we offer genuine emergency plumbing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes nights, weekends, and public holidays. Whenever you call, you get a real person on the phone, working to send a licensed plumber to your home ASAP.

How fast can a Sydney emergency plumber get to me?

We’re based in Kogarah, allowing us to offer especially speedy service to buildings in St George, the Sutherland Shire, and the Inner West. No matter where you are, we’ll get to you as quickly as we can, any time of the day or night.

When you give us a call, we’ll give you an estimated arrival time, and provide advice for the immediate steps to deal with your emergency.

What should I do while I wait for the plumbing company?

For a burst pipe, turn off your water at the mains. For a gas smell, don’t touch any switches, get outside, and call us from there. For a blocked toilet or drain, don’t run any water. We’ll talk you through your emergency on the phone.

Does All Needs Plumbing handle emergency gas leaks?

Yes. Our licensed gas fitters have years of experience handling gas leaks and gas faults safely. Don’t hesitate to contact us on 1300 110 230 and get your emergency solved.

Can renters organise emergency plumbing in NSW?

Yes, renters can organise emergency plumbing in the case of true emergencies. While renters generally must go through their landlord or real estate agent to organise plumbing repairs, it may not be possible to do this for a serious plumbing emergency.

You should always contact your landlord/agent first about organising repairs. If they don’t respond to initial messages or follow-ups, check your residential tenancy agreement for the details of approved or preferred tradespeople.

After repairs are complete, you can get repaid the cost up to $1,000. In certain cases, your landlord might not have to repay you. This can apply if you caused the damage or you didn’t try to contact them about the repair.

Does All Needs Plumbing offer emergency plumbing on weekends and public holidays?

Plumbing emergencies don’t take days off, and neither do we. We offer our emergency plumber services on weekends and public holidays, ensuring you can enjoy your precious time off with minimum fuss.
