What Plumbing Problems Are Common in Gymea?

Rubble in the Sewer

If your building has had a renovation, old tiles and rubble can end up in your sewer line. In one Gymea unit, that debris blocked the line until sewage came up through the downstairs shower. A camera shows you exactly what's in there before we jet it clear.

Gas Hot Water Near the End

Gas storage systems usually tell you they're tired before they quit: the pilot light keeps going out or the water won't stay hot. On an older system, replacement is often the better spend, and we'll give you both options.

Taps That Keep Dripping

If your tap still drips after a new washer, the seat or cartridge is often worn too. We'll tell you honestly whether a service will hold or whether new tapware is the better fix.

Sewer Connections From the 1960s

Sutherland Shire Council records show owners of 19 properties, all but one in Gymea, being given notice to connect to the sewer in 1968. If your connection is that old and your drains keep slowing down, a camera inspection is worth your while.

Recent Plumbing Work in Gymea

Sewage backed up across a shower floor in a Gymea unit, and the same shower back in use after the sewer was cleared

Building Rubble Cleared From a Blocked Sewer

In June we were called to a Gymea unit where the upstairs bathroom was blocked and sewage was coming up through the downstairs shower.

There was no accessible inspection opening on the sewer line, so we removed the toilet to get in. We jet blasted the line and ran a camera through it, which showed old tiles and building rubble sitting in the main sewer line and stopping it up.

A high-pressure jet blaster cleared the obstruction, and a final camera inspection confirmed the lines were clear and flowing. The sewer was working normally before we left.

Sewage coming up where it shouldn't? Stop running water in the house and call us straight away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does All Needs Plumbing service Gymea?

Yes. Gymea is right in the middle of our Sutherland Shire area, and we work in houses, townhouses and units there every month. You get the same upfront pricing and the same Lifetime Labour Warranty.

What should I do if my cooktop smells of gas?

Turn it off, open the windows and don't use switches or flames nearby. Call Jemena on 131 909 if the smell is strong, then call us. We'll test the line and fix the leak, which on one Gymea cooktop was the regulator and flexible hose.

Why is sewage coming up through my shower?

The sewer line is blocked further down, so waste backs up to the lowest opening, often a downstairs shower or floor waste. We'll find the cause with a camera and clear it, whether it's roots, grease or building rubble.

Can you replace a gas hot water system quickly?

Usually within a day or so. For one Gymea home, we removed the old system on the first visit and had the new one installed and running the next morning.

How much does a plumber cost in Gymea?

It depends on the job, so we look before we quote. You'll always approve a fixed price before work starts, and call-outs are free from 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Hot Water, Taps or a Blocked Drain in Gymea?

A dripping tap or a tired hot water system won’t fix itself, and a slow drain tends to block completely at the worst possible time.

Rely on expert local plumbers to take care of it. Give us a call on 1300 110 230 or book online, and rest easy knowing every job is backed by our Lifetime Labour Warranty.
