Gas work, hot water and water leaks are the jobs that come up most in our Sylvania call book, and our plumbers live around the Shire, so it’s never a long trip. Our licensed gas fitters handle everything from a leaking meter union to a new line for a pool heater, and you’ll approve a fixed price before any work starts. Every job is backed by our Lifetime Labour Warranty.
If you’re in Sylvania, gas is the job we’re most likely to be calling you about, level with hot water and water leaks. That covers your meter and regulator, your cooktop and gas hot water, and the occasional new line run out to a pool heater.
The unions and regulator at your gas meter wear over time. If you notice a faint gas smell near the meter, or your pilot light keeps dropping out, give us a call. We'll test your line, replace the leaking unions or regulator, then relight and check every appliance before we leave.
When your hot water fades rather than stops, the tempering valve is a common culprit. It mixes hot and cold before the water reaches your taps, and a worn one can leave your shower lukewarm. Replacing it costs you far less than a new system, so we check it first.
Sutherland Shire Council records show work on sewering one part of Sylvania was only starting in 1973, after earlier stages in the 1960s. So your house can sit on a much older line than the one next door. If your drain keeps blocking, we'll put a camera down and show you what we find before you get a quote.
Water leaks are among the jobs we're called to most in Sylvania, and the hardest are the ones you can't see. If your water bill jumps, or you can hear water running with every tap off, we'll test your lines to find the leak before anything is broken out.

In September a Sylvania family wanted a gas pool heater installed beside their pool pumps, on the opposite side of the property from the gas meter.
To supply it, we planned a new 40mm copper gas line from the meter. We cut the concrete along the side path, dug a trench from the meter, and ran the copper up the wall inside trunking and along the roof edge to the pool side, keeping the pipework neat and protected.
Once the run was complete, we backfilled and re-concreted the trench, then came back with the pool technician to connect the heater. We fitted brass unions so the heater can be serviced and a new gas ball valve, then tested and commissioned it. The heater fired up and stayed lit.
Planning a new gas appliance yourself? We'll check your line can carry it before anything is installed, so you're not left short of gas.
Here are five more jobs from our Sylvania call book this year, so you can see the kind of work we do around you. Each has a photo taken on the day.

A 240L electric system was giving almost no hot water pressure while the cold was fine. We replaced the worn tempering valve, then tested and commissioned it.

The laundry tap made a loud noise every time it was opened. We replaced the wall-top taps, resealed the shower and fitted new toilet seats, mini stops and flexible hoses.

New owners had a leaking basin trap and nowhere for the washing machine to drain. We replaced the trap and connected the washing machine.

A leaking main water tap and banging pipes led us to a very old electric hot water system. We drained and removed it, then installed a new Rheem 80L unit.

The unions on a gas meter were leaking. We disconnected the meter and regulator, fitted new unions and a new regulator, tested the line and relit the gas hot water.
